With the disappointing news of last week we have some dates that have been scheduled for us. On February 11th we have an appointment with an oncologist at the University of Iowa. They assure us that she is terrific, but with a name like Alexandra I picture her to be around the age of 17....am I old or what. Then on February 18th I have my second (and hopefully last) surgery. They will take out another 5 lymph nodes and I should only be there overnight (I tried to talk him into same day but no luck). Then on the 23rd we see the oncologist here (just for another opinion) and that is it so far for February. At least it should make February go by pretty quickly. Thanks for all the support...everyone has been terrific. We will update the blog as news dictates. Right now we are kind of at a stand still until we get to the 11th.

Howdy again today. Loved the Mark Twain quote--thinking of you lots. All of our park friends welcomed us back and of course you were the first one they mentioned. So many of them have loved ones fighting the battle too. You are most sincerely in their prayers.
ReplyDelete"sisterly" love,

Hi Lori. My Mom just told me yesterday about what you've been going through lately and that you have a blog that chronicles your progress. So I hope you don't mind, I got the address from Katie. I'm was saddened to hear about what you're going through, but I wish you the best of luck with continuing to fight the battle. I also wish you the best of luck with your upcoming surgery at UIHC and the Oncologist appointments. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you all.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
ReplyDeleteSo love the people who treat you right.
Love the ones who don't just because you can.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly.
Forgive quickly.
God never said life would be easy.
He just promised it would be worth it.
Lori, I received this in an email today and I thought it was worth sending. The message made me think!! Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you in the coming days, and weeks.
