Bump In The Road...

Well here we are with our first "bump" on the road of optimism. I had my appointment with my surgeon today and the news wasn't what we expected. The final pathology report came back showing that there was some "micrometastasis" in one of the lymph nodes that was removed on January 30. What that means is that I have to go back to the hospital for a 2nd surgery so they can remove another 5 lymph nodes for testing. It also means that my little chemo "stint" that I was hoping for has been bumped up a notch. This lymph node thing puts me into Stage II which is an indication for a little more aggressive chemo and more frequent than I had hoped for. It also guarantees the "bald" thing. Needless to say we are all pretty disappointed...I'm not very good at being sick but I guess this will put my patience to the test. I did get all 4 of my drains out today and my mummy wraps off which feels much better. We are doing ok, but I would ask that you guys keep Neal and Molly in your thoughts and prayers. I will be fine...my prognosis for "longevity" as they like to put it is GOOD.... only the good die young you know....
Again, thank you for all your cards, calls, prayers, food, etc. We are blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.

Faith has to do with things that are not seen
and hope with things that are not at hand.

  1. Best laid plans... We realize it is going to be God's way, don't we? Every time I pick up my pink pen I say a prayer for you, Neal, and Molly. Just wish I could perform a miracle.
    God bless. Barb and Dave

  2. You, Neal and Molly are in our thoughts and prayers each and every day that you go through this. If there was anything I could do for you to take this set back from you - I would. You guys are wonderful people. Thinking of you and your family often ~ Tanya
